What is an Informed Conscience?

Read the following scenario and answer the questions:

Roger Smith, a quite competent swimmer, is out for a leisurely stroll. During the course of his walk he passes by a deserted pier from which a teenage boy who apparently cannot swim has fallen into the water. The boy is screaming for help. Smith recognizes that there is absolutely no danger to himself if he jumps in to save the boy; he could easily succeed if he tried. Nevertheless, he chooses to ignore the boy’s cries. The water is cold and he is afraid of catching a cold — he doesn’t want to get his good clothes wet either. “Why should I inconvenience myself for this kid,” Smith says to himself, and passes on.

1.) There are always TWO sides to a conscience. What would Roger’s conscience be telling him?

In order to make a decision doctor’s access a wide range of medical knowledge and patient history in order to diagnose a problem and treatment. The same principle can be applied to making moral decisions. We must be well informed regarding all the facts of the situation, moral values, virtues and laws in order to make our final decision. Therefore, an informed catholic conscience is an educated conscience that knows in any given situation.

Roger Smith’s conscience would be telling him to either help the boy with his swimming, or not to care less about him but focus about himself and do what is right for himself not the boy.

2.) Think of an example of Jesus’ teaching and explain how his teachings can help us to make an appropriate decision?

Jesus’ main teaching is to love one another. Roger displayed no love, but if he was a holy person who alsways prayed, God would have lead him to righteousness and helped him make the correct decision in by helping the young boy.

1. How is the research going?

In my opinion I undergo that that the research is going tremendous, the reason for this is because we are all working in a group and everybody is holding up their own weight

2. What do you know about imovie? What other multimedia possibilities have you considered for your presentation?

What I think about Imovie is it is very useful and a good way to present my presentation, another media that I would preferably rather use is a video camera and a program that edits it, the reason for this is because Imovie takes up a lot of time and it is very hard to use, it is also very hectic

1.)    Explain the purpose of using ‘youtube’ as a source of digital media advertising?

The reason for this is because youtube is viewed over the whole world, and if you have a job submission you can just post it up and once you exit you will have knowledge that over 100’s of thousands of people may be viewing it.

2.) Discuss how collaborative media sites such as youtube, myspace and bebo                                                                                 have changed the current boundaries of media such as news, advertising ect.

The way that I have acknowledged the changes of the boundaries of the media websites given above is that, now you can display your self over the net, which is liberated publicity, so you can post whatever you want and it is not restricted to the limit of posts that you will like to make.

3.) Provide a link to an advertising commercial on youtube.

The advertising link that I have personally observed and chosen is the Justin Timberlake Pepsi commercial, the reason for this is because I had found it amusing and I adage the point to the commercial very easily, and that was if you buy a Pepsi you will have a greater opportunity of seeing Justin Timberlake.

With reference to the image below and answer the following questions:

Digital Media

1.) Define the term ‘digital media’.

The term digital media plays a big role in a visual presentation, like for instants on a PowerPoint, when it is projected or played the audience will be able to see what your are tying to present on the TV, that is called digital media. Also when you use your phone or computer, or when you look at a magazine which consists of photos, these are all in relations of digital media.

2.) How has digital media evolved over the last 5-10 years?

The way that it has evolved is by every year as our new generation grows up they gain knowledge of how to access and use computers, because of this the internet is like the secondary virtual life which essentially runs the life and behaviour of the kids and teenagers. Now in reason for this all the internet programs accumulate every year in the quantity of people, this is because they sign up for face book, msn, youtube, video casts and a more.
3.) Discuss the reasons why digital newspapers are extremely popular?

The explanation for this is because digital newspapers provisions our economy with the news, entertainment, sports, and advertisements for jobs.

Chosen Poem

My Country

The love of field and coppice,
Of green and shaded lanes.
Of ordered woods and gardens
Is running in your veins,
Strong love of grey-blue distance
Brown streams and soft dim skies
I know but cannot share it,
My love is otherwise.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!

A stark white ring-barked forest
All tragic to the moon,
The sapphire-misted mountains,
The hot gold hush of noon.
Green tangle of the brushes,
Where lithe lianas coil,
And orchids deck the tree-tops
And ferns the warm dark soil.

   My Poem

       My Land

   I hate a contaminated sky
   With black and Smokey air
   Of cars passing by
   Which give a nasty scare
   Strong smell of burnt oil
No clean air I wonder why
    Its not a big mystery
      Just say I.

       I hate a Boiling day
Which is caused by greenhouse effect
Because our ozone layer is damaged
         Am I not correct
          I hate our dirty seas
why can’t it be like before
          With pure bright blue water
          In which I prefer more.

Our forest has become more hotter
because of the logging of our trees
       the bright Sun shinning
Which is giving me the ease
          The new trees that grow
           Represents a new craft
      As it gets chopped again
       Our existent becomes a draft.

         Some where deep down
We do not know what we are committing
All the bad stuff we have done
        We have to start admitting
But at the end we try to make it better
By creating things with less pollution
By realising that we can prevent it,
I think we have found our solution.

          Although not everything is bad
Even though it is not rich and pure
And that we have a massive flood
Our land will soon be given a cure
For as we try every year
        Our land becomes more bright
          And our skies become fresher
So we have to work at it with all our mite

So everyone take more care of our land
So that we can make it new
Let our trees and plants blossom out
And let us grow more then few
For as this is hard to accomplish
If there is a will there’s a way
So lets give it all we got
And we will get better days.

Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When sick at heart, around us,
We see the cattle die-
But then the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The steady, soaking rain.

Core of my heart, my country!
Land of the Rainbow Gold,
For flood and fire and famine,
She pays us back threefold-
Over the thirsty paddocks,
Watch, after many days,
The filmy veil of greenness
That thickens as we gaze.

An opal-hearted country,
A wilful, lavish land-
All you who have not loved her,
You will not understand-
Though earth holds many splendours,
Wherever I may die,
I know to what brown country
My homing thoughts will fly.
